Bleach Episode 366 (THE END) - ★★★★★★★★★★ (10/10)
- Thoughts:
The whole episode was melancholic, mainly because I knew that every passing minute meant it was coming closer to the end. The episode as a whole was brilliant, the animation was superb and all the scenes they included or added just worked perfectly to settle the tone of the ending.
I don’t know what else I can say about the episode itself, other than it was the perfect ending (and it really did feel like this was the end). The final scenes with Ichigo leaving SS and then him seeing his friends below him as he looks on over Karakura Town was just so brilliant. I also enjoyed the final scenes of all the captains and vice captains in the credits, as we saw things like Hisagi and Komamura looking over Tousen’s grave, and then Kensei joins them - that moment had me feeling so pleased to see them all together.
The Fullbring Arc was not that terrible as people may make out, sure, it had it’s bad moments but it also had a plethora of fantastically epic scenes and revelations, which together worked very well in the manga. I enjoyed Riruka specifically, and was happy how they dealt with her final scene and was really conflicted with happiness and sadness throughout her speech.
So after 366 episodes, the anime is over for the foreseeable future. It will likely be a long time until things return (if they ever do), so we should savour this. Any Anime-only viewers should read and support the release of the manga from this point on if you have not already. The final manga arc of the series (The Thousand War Blood Arc) starts on chapter 480, so you can read from there now and every week as well!
It was a brilliant journey, with ups and downs, but mainly a whole load of ups. The series personally means so much to me, and it’s what truly introduced me to anime and manga. Seeing it end is sad, but I’m happy as well, because they really did it justice and left it on a note that had me smiling. It was emotional, but we should all remember what made us love the Bleach anime and attracted it to us, we all have a story linked to our introduction of it no doubt, but sadly the story of the anime itself has come to an end.
Really dug this anime. I’ll be reading the manga until it ends. Then I wonder what will come next.
